Hi. My name is Yanlong Huang(黄炎龙). I went to Sharon High School in 2011 and started my college life at the University of Massachusetts Lowell(UMASS Lowell) in 2013. After finishing my bachelor’s degree of electrical engineering, I continue to study my master’s degree of electrical engineering in 2017. Received my master’s degree in 2019.
As an electrical engineering major student, I have the feeling that this major is such a wide major. It covers so many different areas, for example, analog/digital signal, RF signal, solar power, power electronics, IC design, embedded systems etc. I focus more on analog circuit design in bachelor degree and more on digital circuit design in master degree. After graduating in 2019, I start to work on Hudson Light & Power, which focuses more on high voltage such as 115 KV transformer step down to 8.3 KV, relay, circuit breaker, tripsaver, transmission line, solar program, electric vehicle program etc. In my perspective, I am still young and should explore more different areas in Electrical Engineering. After all the experience has been accumulated, I become more familiar with electrical engineering in different areas.
Besides school life, I spent a lot of time organizing the UMASS Lowell badminton team and bringing the team to the tournament. I started the badminton team in UMASS Lowell in 2016 and after that, our team joined the American Northeast collegiate tournament every year. These experiences taught me how to lead a team and how to work with other members in the team. Everytime we win a place in the tournament, those are the moments we feel really proud of ourselves.
